The IMI Level 1 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness provides essential safety awareness for anyone who works with, near, or around electric and hybrid vehicles. This training supports compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, which require employers to ensure that anyone who may be exposed to electrical risks receives appropriate training and understands the precautions needed to work safely.
Under Regulation 16, employers have a duty to ensure employees are competent or supervised when working on or near electrical systems. Level 1 provides the foundational awareness needed to meet this duty of care for personnel working around EVs.
